How to Run a Kaizen Event Workshop

What you will learn

Overview

Kaizen events have long been known as a vehicle for getting teams together in one place to fully concentrate on mapping their processes, identifying inefficiencies and making improvements that yield better, faster and more consistent outputs.

But not all Kaizen events are the same, and you have to know how to lead one to get good results. That’s why BMGI offers this special, one-day workshop, giving you the skills and tools you need for making rapid improvements many times over in different parts of your organization.

This one-day session is led by an experienced Lean master who will share real-world examples of what went well in actual Kaizen events and, even more importantly, what went wrong. You’ll learn the concepts and tools you’ll need to align operations with strategic objectives and remove waste from your processes.

In addition, the workshop covers BMGI’s SCORE methodology (Select-Clarify-Organize-Run-Evaluate), an industry-recognized and proven framework for getting results with Kaizen events. You’ll learn how to choose the right team members, motivate and manage team activity, apply the tools and maximize financial results and ROI.

Learning Objectives

After attending this workshop, you’ll be able to:

  • Lead waste-reducing Kaizen events using the results-driven SCORE methodology.
  • Choose the right Lean tool at the right moment during your events.
  • Create meaningful and realistic Kaizen event deliverables.
  • Plan and deliver fast-paced events that are fun and engaging for all participants.
  • Effectively capture and report on event results.

As a bonus, you’ll receive a copy of the step-by-step SCORE event guide, A Team Leader's Guide to Lean Kaizen Events, complete with usable Excel templates that you are free to use as you run your own events.

You’ll enjoy the day by engaging in participatory and enlightening interaction, exercises, group work, simulations and practice sessions. You’ll glean wisdom and insight—and give some too—as you network with other participants from other companies and industries.
