As BMGI’s Chief Innovation Officer, Dr. Phil Samuel has been helping clients insource creativity and increase organic growth potential for more than a decade. Phil’s counsel is invaluable during the strategy deployment phase of any Lean Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma or innovation initiative, and he has become a trusted advisor for executives in a variety of industries.
Phil is a dynamic speaker and author whose most recent credits include two books: Design for Lean Six Sigma: A Holistic Approach to Design and Innovation and The Innovator’s Toolkit: 50+ Techniques for Predictable and Sustainable Organic Growth. Both published by John Wiley & Sons, these books are focused on the practical methods, tools and steps involved in developing innovative capability and putting new ideas into practice.
With more than 20 years of technical and management experience with engineering, manufacturing and service processes, Phil has led countless performance improvement initiatives. His extensive consulting background includes work with clients in the aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, healthcare, retail, pharmaceutical and high-tech sectors—as well as work with such regulatory agencies such as Environment Canada, the Alberta Research Council and the National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
Phil holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary in Canada, and an MBA from Arizona State University. He is a registered professional engineer and an active member of several professional organizations.
