BMGI’s lucky to have a professional like Leslie, whose 20 years of finance and accounting experience suit her well for leading these functions.
Having worked for global companies, she’s been exposed to different cultures and business practices around the world. She’s applied Lean Six Sigma tools to accounting systems and processes. She’s developed and executed strategy, led project teams and been in the middle of many an ERP conversion.
What’s it all about?
Says Leslie: “Improving processes and dealing with issues before they become crises. Looking back and saying ‘we’re not perfect yet but we’re better than we were a year ago.’”
But here’s something you wouldn’t expect of a CFO: Leslie’s a closet historian, having completed her coursework at the University of Colorado for her master’s degree.
She loves reading just about anything, but especially about women. She’s published an article about Dana Crawford, the famous Colorado developer and historic preservationist. Someday, she plans to write a book or two about women in history who haven’t been adequately recognized.
Aside from this, Leslie loves gardening, theater and sports. So when she’s not at work or reading, you’ll likely find her knee-deep in the dirt or with her husband at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Or you might see her cheering the Denver Broncos or Colorado Rockies at one of their games.
Leslie has more than 20 years of progressive finance, accounting, marketing and management experience. She specializes in process improvement projects, project management, financial analysis, budgeting and planning, and cost accounting. Leslie has an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver and a bachelor's in business administration from the University of Minnesota. She's also a certified management accountant.
