Jack Chang
Managing Director, Asia
With BMGI since 2003

Jack is and always has been a fine mix of ambition and excellence, building BMGI Asia from a start-up to one of the most highly recognized Lean Six Sigma firms in China, Taiwan and surrounding countries.

At age 29, Jack was the CIO of General Electric Taiwan, where he spent seven years of his career and where he acquired skills that now benefit his clients very well. In all, Jack’s consulted with over 80 companies in virtually every industry sector.

One project Jack led was a very difficult technical challenge of extending “image sticking” from 24 to 168 hours. He remembers: “We explored and investigated and analyzed until we finally dug out the solution, and the business added millions in revenue as a result.”

Problems I'd Love to Solve:
A long "honey-do" list

Jack’s always had a built-in tenacity. He nearly became a professional volleyball player before he was 20, after playing in college and the Taiwanese army. Also, he scored under 100 in golf after only learning and playing for three months.

“I can play any sport with a ball pretty well,” he says.

Jack also likes to study history because he enjoys it and believes there is a lot to learn from “the wisdom of the ancients.” He practices the principle that we can rely on the past to help us understand the present and even predict the future.

Another of Jack’s principles is a strong belief in balance between work and family life. He lives in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan, with his wife and two children. “It’s a very busy city,” says Jack, “but it’s wonderful because we can very easily spend time in the mountains or at the beach.”
