Master Black Belts are the cornerstone of a successful Six Sigma deployment and
the development of Master Black Belts is a critical element of the Six Sigma
implementation plan. Becoming a Master Black Belt involves a great deal more
than just learning advanced statistical techniques. It involves acquiring the
skills to be a leader and drive change initiatives
Candidates may select four of the following advanced courses for Master Black
Belt Development below as their primary course curriculum:
In addition successful candidates must complete the following to graduate from
BMGI's Master Black Belt Development Program:
- Submission of three Six Sigma projects to BMGI's Master Black Belt
Certification Committee
- Submission of a paper to a periodical or delivery at a public seminar
- A score of 90% or better on BMGI's Six Sigma Master Black Belt Examination
- Co-teaching from four to 20 hours (dependent on prior Six Sigma
instructional experience)
- Nomination by a team representing BMGI and a Client using BMGI's
certification standards
- Master Black Belt candidates must complete Black Belt certification prior to entering BMGI's Master Black Belt Development Program
The requirement standards are challenging, yet arm graduates with all the
necessary skills to perform any of the four primary roles of a Teacher, Coach,
Project Worker and Champion.
