BMGI’s roots are in the lean and six sigma space and we still have many clients using lean and six sigma tools and techniques to solve problems. We also believe that while the end is in sight for six sigma deployments, lean is going to survive very much intact and all of the tools still have tremendous merit. In fact, in 2010 BMGI is introducing many new classes and services based on many traditional lean and six sigma tools, without paying so much homage to which particular methodology is used as the overall problem solving framework.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt & Green Belt Programs
To support both our own clients that have not yet made plans to transition from their historical program, and for those new to BMGI, we continue to offer traditional lean six sigma black belt and green belt programs, both through our public course programs and on-site. Advanced Tools
Long ago BMGI began offering six sigma black belt programs built on a series of advanced course electives designed around the unique needs of our clients. As six sigma morphed into lean six sigma, the number of advanced courses available grew as well. Today, these classes—many not offered elsewhere—are among the many things BMGI is known for. Among BMGI’s advanced course you will find:
- Change Leadership
- Train-the-Trainer
- ToolMaster
- Transactional ToolMaster
- Advanced Lean
- TRIZ
- Innovation Tools
Master Black Belt
Development BMGI’s Master Black Belt Development program has been a cornerstone of BMGI’s offerings for nearly ten years. With an understanding that not everyone can devote the time necessary to become experts across a broad range of tools, sufficiently proficient to teach and coach others, BMGI developed one of the most rigorous and highly regarded programs available in the market. We also offered one of the most flexible, acknowledging that the needs of all companies are not alike and therefore the needs of their master black belts are not all alike. Based on education through BMGI’s advanced courses, the master black belt certification also requires the completion of projects to demonstrate proficiency, not simply an academic understanding, of tools; it requires the endorsement of others at your company; and we require a high passing grade on our on-line exams.
Everyday Lean and Six Sigma Tools
At BMGI we detect a trend that says businesses are ready for a brief respite from big programs and that in these very lean and uncertain times, many want to focus on the basics—one tool at a time. You can find details at www.BMGUniversity.com
SCORE!
Running a SCORE event is perhaps the most popular rapid problem solving approach chosen by BMGI’s clients today. Based on the principles revealed in the best selling, Team Leader’s Guide to Lean Kaizen Events, SCORE events deliver impact—and fast. Also referred to as rapid problem solving events, the focus is on a methodical approach to Kaizen with the data driven discipline of six sigma.
Lean Basics
Despite the many changes going on in industry today, the basic principles of lean have been around since at least the 1940’s when the U.S. War Manpower Commission developed the Training Within Industry program to equip new comers to the workforce with the skills they needed to work in America’s factories. The principles are every bit as powerful today as they were then, and we continue to see substantial demand for cultural transformations’ based on the principles of lean.
