Change Management

The Problem

We all know that change is necessary and unavoidable—and that it underpins all improvement and innovation initiatives. The success of your initiative is only as good as the success of your change efforts. In fact, most initiatives fail to deliver expected results—not for lack of commitment, hard skills, technologies and tools—but because the people involved fail to manage change. The bottom line: Change is a process, and it must be managed like any other process.

The Solution

Don’t sit back and wait for a lack of change management to chip away at your chances of success. BMGI hits the challenge of change management head on with several solutions: a change readiness assessment, coaching and education.

Change Readiness Assessment

Some organizations are more ready for change than others. Through our Change Readiness Assessment, we’ll examine how prepared your organization is based on the critical success factors that result in effective change. What enablers or barriers will you encounter? Who are the key stakeholders—and what are the stakes? What risks are at hand, and what is your plan to manage them? Are there competing initiatives?

We’ll then produce a report that shows you what you need to do (or not do) to better position your organization. One of our senior client partners will cover their findings with your leadership team in a two-way, interactive fashion. We’ll also give you feedback on whether we believe the scope of change you’re about to undertake is realistic. Ambition is good, but so is pragmatism.

The net result of a good Change Readiness Assessment is a fluid transition into the launch of your new operational excellence program or initiative.

Change Management Coaching

Our change leaders will expertly shepherd teams at all levels through any challenge in any industry. Through Change Management Coaching, a consultant or trainer works directly with you to provide individualized guidance to team members. Some of the questions addressed:

  • What do change leaders need to know about themselves and others to be effective?
  • Which tools and techniques are available to facilitate the change process—and how can they be intelligently applied?
  • Which people are likely to move the change along in a positive direction, and which people are likely to resist or create barriers?
  • How can we leverage those who are ready for change and influence those who are resistant?
Change Leadership Course

Our in-depth, intense, five-day Change Leadership Course is designed to develop change leaders who can then go on to lead and implement change at all levels in their organization. It provides the knowledge, tools, skills and practice needed to create widespread commitment while managing the details of your change initiative—large or small. Conducted in a workshop environment, the course has an experiential and applied focus, including a multi-part simulation exercise.
