BMG Integrates Six Sigma eLearning Curriculum Into ProjXTM Software for Just-In-Time Training

New feature provides ProjXTM users with instant access to online tools training without leaving the system

Working on a Six Sigma project and you can't quite remember which tool to use? What do you do? Until now, the answer was to go back and scour your old 3-ring binders from training class, wasting valuable time.

Breakthrough Management Group (BMG) has the solution. In May, BMG announced the incorporation of its Six Sigma eLearning course material directly into its enterprise process excellence project tracking system, ProjXTM to provide on-demand tools training to Six Sigma practitioners. This new functionality gives ProjX users point and click access to multimedia training presentations on a variety of Six Sigma topics while working on project deliverables, all without ever leaving the system.

Because the system provides on-demand access to learning material, practitioners can now view a BMG eCourse at any time, making learning truly on-demand. Practitioners who need additional instruction or a refresher can review a specific topic, skill or tool needed to complete their project deliverables.

According to BMG's eLearning product manager Jessica Schneider,"This new feature has the power to dramatically improve the way Six Sigma companies conduct project work. Giving practitioners the ability to review specific topics, refresh their skills and get instructions directly within ProjX provides our clients with a stronger continuous learning environment and greater program rigor."

BMG's Six Sigma eLearning curriculum are being delivered through the ProjX MentorTM, an area of the software where companies have traditionally uploaded their own tools, templates, examples, spreadsheets and curriculum directly into the system. With the new feature, companies can continue to upload their own content and information, as well as choose any of BMG's eLearning courses based on their specific Six Sigma roadmap. The new system is available to all existing and new ProjX customers through BMG.

Through beta testing with its customer base, BMG has uncovered a number of benefits customers are realizing as a result of the incorporation of eCourses into ProjX:

  • Promotes continuous learning - Through the Mentor, practitioners can review a specific topic or skill. They can also review how to apply specific tools or how to complete deliverables.
  • True 24-hour learning - Because the system provides on-demand access to materials, practitioners can access courses at any time, making learning truly on-demand.
  • Improves Project Results - When practitioners are better trained in the tools and skills needed, they are more apt to apply them with greater precision, leading to better project results.
  • Increases usage of the project tracking software - By enhancing the tools available in ProjX, companies will find their project tracking system becomes a well-used resource that practitioners can rely on.
  • According to BMG's Technology Product Leader Brian Caffarelli, a company can choose to implement the eCourses in their entirety or select specific courses based on their Six Sigma roadmap. In all cases, he says, “Integration is simple, and everything is delivered in a completely secure environment.”

The new system is available to all existing and new ProjX customers through BMG. Customers will pay a flat fee based on the size of their Six Sigma deployment for an annual subscription to the material.

This new integration does not preclude the continued availability of BMG's Six Sigma eLearning products as a stand-alone product. BMG customers interested in adding this capability to their existing ProjX system should contact their account leader or call 1.800.4.6SIGMA (1-800-467-4462).
