Overview
Rayloc Merchandise Distribution Service in Atlanta, Georgia has a cross-dock with 50 bays on each side for 18-wheelers to load and unload their parts. Charged with making the cross-dock more productive, a team engaged in a systematic workflow analysis, identifying areas of pain and inefficiency with various Lean and Six Sigma tools. Based on this, the team revamped and modernized its entire process, saving Rayloc $1 million per year.
