Improve Accounting Process

 

Overview

The Shared Services department of a major financial institution formed a London-based team to make its operational-excellence-related (OE) accounting processes more efficient.  With cycle time reduction as the primary metric, the team harmonized, optimized  and centralized processes, and removed waste and redundancy using such tools such as the SIPOC map. A .5 FTE reduction was achieved, saving $92k on an annual basis.
